Dakore Egbuson-Akande- Age, early life and brother

Dakore Egbuson-Akande was born Dakore Omobola Egbuson in Bayelsa on October 14, 1978, as a first child to a building contractor father and a mother who worked as a caterer/homemaker. The thespian attended Corona School (Not the virus) before completing her secondary school education at Federal Government Girls’ College in Lagos and Bauchi. She obtained admission at the University of Lagos to pursue a degree in Mass Communication (now Journalism in Nigerian tertiary institutions). However, Dakore dropped out from University citing incessant strike between the Academic Staff Union of Universities and the federal government as what fuelled her decision to drop out. It is not certain if she pursued a degree outside Nigeria.

As with most of her colleagues, Dakore started her career as a musician but noticed it would be difficult to have her breakthrough here so switched to acting and made her first appearance on TV in the TV drama entitled “Inheritance”, and from that moment, a movie star was born.

Ms Egbuson has a brother who is making waves in the entertainment industry as an actor. Timini Egbuson is her younger brother. Timini was also born in Bayelsa like her sister. He attended Greenspring Montessori, The Afro School and St Catherine’s. He also attended Adebayo Mokuolu College, Lagos. Timini bagged a degree in Psychology in the University of Lagos in 2011. However, the actor started his acting career in 2010, on M-net’s soap opera Tinsel.

Timini, a rather unpopular face in Nigeria’s entertainment industry at the moment, won the Best Actor in a drama for his role in “Elevator baby” at the 2020 AMVCA awards.

Dakore Egbuson is 41 years while Timi Egbuson is 33 years old.

Dakore Egbuson: Career

Dakore Egbuson has appeared in over Nollywood movies. She is one actress who knows her to interpret her roles very well and this made her get movie roles with ease. In the early years of her career, she appeared in movies such as “Men do Cry”, “play Boy” and “Hole in the Heart”. Her beauty added a fillip for her to get romantic roles as she appeared as a love interest of Jim Iyke, Emeka Ike or other Nollywood handsome big boys. As her career peaked, she won many hearts but all of a sudden went exited the industry.

Speaking with informationnigeria, the actress stated that she needed to spend more time with her family and friends, In addition, she found love during those moments and needed time to groom it. However, many alleged that Dakore exited the acting scene because her father-in-law told her to do so, the actress revealed none of that happened. And we believe her because she already took a break from the acting world before she found love.

To make her come back in the industry, she appeared in the Ashionye Michelle Raccah’s film “Journey to Self” as Alex. The film narrates the story of five childhood friends who converge at the home of one of them who just died, leaving behind a series of letters that explains her struggles through life. The film received a nomination for the category Achievement In Soundtrack at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards. It wasn’t a bad comeback attempt from the thespian. She starred in the 2017 romantic comedy film “Isoken” as Isoken, an obviously successful woman without a husband which worried her mother to the point that she match-make her with an Edo man called Osaze played by Joseph Benjamin.

Dakore Egbuson-Akande appeared in the 2018 Netflix movie “Chief Daddy” As Remi. The movies starred other stars like Ini Edo, Shafy Bello, Richard Mofe Damijo and Kate Henshaw. In 2019, Dakore appeared alongside Jim Iyke, Tina Mba and Adesua Etomi-Wellington in the suspense crime thriller film “The Set Up”. The movie is now o Netflix.

Dakore is also a TV personality. In 2019, she anchored the first edition of multichoice Reality TV Show “Ultimate Love” alongside Oluwaseun Olaniyan. Her presenting was criticized by many Nigerians, airing opinions that Dakore doesnt bring any excitement to the table as a presenter, her partner was not spared either. However, some others found her interesting and blamed the show for having some element of surprise in its content. Dakore has modeled for many brands and was once an Amstel Malta Ambassador. She is also an ambassador for Amnesty International.

Marriage

Dakore Egbuson is married to Olumide Akande. Together they have two beautiful girls. Dakore spends most of her time these days with her family, and in order to escape boredom, she travels around the world with her husband. We don’t know her exact net worth but for someone who spends sizable hours in the skies when she wants, your guess will be good as ours.
