Meet Her Husband Lior Raz
Lior Raz was born in Ma’ale Adumim, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, 7 kilometers from Jerusalem, where he grew up. His parents are Arab Jews and came to Israel from Iraq and Algeria which makes Raz’s first language Arabic. He speaks fluent Hebrew.
After he finished high school, he joined the Israeli Defense Forces as a commando. He was in love with Iris Azulai in Israel but she was stabbed to death by an Arab terrorist. Feeling he had nothing else to live for in the Middle East, he left for the United States.
In the United States, he became a bodyguard of the Schwarzenegger family or as he put it, “the watchdog of Schwarzenegger and his wife”.
Raz returned to Israel at 24 and, probably drawn into the world of movie-making watching Schwarzenegger, he entered and graduated from Nissan Nativ Drama School in Tel Aviv. He began acting in various Israeli TV and movies.
In 2014, he became a hit when he appeared in the political thriller television series “Fauda” in which he played the role of Doron Kabilio, the commander of an undercover counter-terrorism Mista’arvim unit. In 2016, the show won six awards, including Best Drama Series, at the Israeli Academy Awards.

In December 2017, The New York Times voted “Fauda” the best international show of the year. In 2018, Raz himself won the best actor award for his role in the series.
In August 2021, Netflix released Hit & Run, an Israeli-American crime and action series of nine episodes. The show was not greenlit for a second season.
Career, marriage, and motherhood
Meital Berdah is known mostly for three credits. The first is “Kadosh” (“Sacred” in English) about a strict Jewish group. In this show, the character of Berdah marries someone in a match arranged by her parents, even though she loves someone else who happens to be a rock singer, who has abandoned the religious community and therefore not fit for Berdah’s character as per her parents.
The second is in 2006 when she played a small part in “Naor’s Friends”, a sitcom about the Israeli comedian Naor Zion in a series he wrote and directed.
The third is the well-received political drama “Fauda” which her husband, Raz owned and killed.
Meital Berdah got married to Lior Raz in 2008.
The couple lives in Ramat HaSharon, Israel. They are blessed with four kids.
