Marla Sokoloff was raised in a Jewish Family

Born on December 19, 1980, Marla Sokoloff was raised in a Jewish family to parents Howard and Cindi Sokoloff. Her father, Howard was a podiatrist, while her mother Cindi, worked as a caterer. Marla has a brother, Jared Sokoloff whom she played and fought with as a child. (Realistically is that what all siblings do?)

Marla received her education from the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts located on the campus of California State University, Los Angeles in Los Angeles, California. While she was approaching the age of adolescence, fame started knocking on her doors and acting career was launched before other things followed.

She is a blogger

Marla Sokoloff is not just an actress but also a celebrity blogger. Most actors and actresses have a writing talent but only a few pursue it. As for Marla, blogging could be described as one of her hobbies as she tries to balance her acting career with her numerous gifts. Marla also enjoys blogging about her beautiful daughters, about motherhood and how marriage had a big impact on her career. There are no rumors of divorce between Marla and Alec Puro.

She started acting at the age of 7

Marla Sokoloff began her acting career in a local San Francisco theater at age 7. Five years later, she made her screen debut in the series “Full House” where she starred as Gia Mahan for eight episodes.  Marla also appeared in some TV series and films later, playing minor roles.

Her breakout role came in the legal TV drama “The Practice” where she starred as a cheeky secretary Lucy Hatcher in the entire series. This role was a major contributory role to her Hollywood breakthrough as it birthed more screen time for her most notably in “Strange Frequencies” and “Night Vision”.

She also starred as Maggie Carter in “Whatever It Takes”, Alice in the ABC series “Big Day” which proved to be another big role that expanded her fame. In 2015, she starred in 2 episodes of  “Grey’s Anatomy as Glenda Castillo. In 2016, she starred in the Netflix original “Fuller House”. Marla has done so many works on TV.

Marla Sokoloff is more than just an actress

You already know that Marla is a celebrity blogger and a successful actress, what else does she do? Or what else has she not done? Talented people find a way to utilize all their gifts. As for Marla, she is a guitarist and a good singer. In fact, she created a line of custom-made guitar straps called Kiss My Axe.
