Tim Robbins was born in October 1959 in West Covina, California and grew up in New York City. His mother Mary Robbins is an actor. She is most recognized for her role in “Dead Man Walking” (1995) and “Cradle Will Rock” (1999), and sadly passed away in 2011.
Tim Robbins’ father was Gil Lee Robbins, a folk musician and actor. He was a member of the folk group Highwaymen. He has many music albums to his name including “American Civil War Music”. Tim Robbins began in Off-Off-Broadway under The Theater for the New City label and went on to train himself in street theater. He became a screen actor in 1982 when he played the role of Andrew Reinhardt a domestic terrorist in the medical thriller “St. Elsewhere” on NBC.

Tim Robbins is a father of two but he was never married. In 1988, Robbins was on the set of the film “Bull Durham” where he met the Oscar-winning actress Sarah Saradon. Born in October 1946, Sarah is twelve years older than Tim but that didn’t stop them falling in love. Before then, Susan was married to the actor Chris Sarandon.
