Elizabeth Henstridge was born in Sheffield, England on September 11, 1987. There is information about the name of her parents and we must add, she is not related to the Canadian actress and model Natasha Henstridge. She attended Meadowhead School and King Edward VII School and after her graduation, she moved to the University of Birmingham where she bagged her Bachelor’s degree.

Elizabeth also studied at East 15 Acting School, a British drama school located at Loughton Essex and after her studies, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a proper acting career. Within 6 weeks of living in Los Angeles, she landed her first movie role and her career began to witness a dramatic turnaround.

Elizabeth Henstridge made her acting debut in 2010 when she appeared as a farmer’s daughter in the short film “Easy Under the Apple Bough”. It was a character tailor-made for her as she has some personal experiences being raised as a farmer’s daughter. She soon appeared in the British soap opera Hollyoaks as Emily Alexander who was in dire need of a kidney transplant. The series has won 39 British Soap Awards, 18 Inside Soap Awards, one TRIC Award and one National Television Award. Hollyoaks has won the award for “Best British Soap” at the British Soap Awards twice, in 2014 and 2019.

The actress composed the music for the 2011 short film “And the Kid”, in which she also starred. Then like someone who had an epiphany that the British film industry wasn’t meant for her, she relocated to Los Angeles and within six years of staying in her new environment where dodgy Hollywood film agents fleece upcoming actors, she landed her a lead role in the pilot of J.J. Abrams and Mark Schwahn’s “Shelter”. A bright start for her.

Her breakout role came almost immediately as she appeared as Jemma Simmons, a biochemist who specializes in life sciences (human & alien) in the television series “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division). She has won two awards between 2015 and 2019 for her role in the series.

Elizabeth Henstridge has also played a voice role in two episodes of Disney XD television series “Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero”. Not that she is completely lost in the delight that Hollywood offers, she is also active in British film; that is if the roles come. In 2013, she played the character of Kate in the British-Tamil crime drama film “Gangs of Tooting Broadway”.
