Her mother, Betty Sanders, (not a sister to Bernie Sanders) worked as an industrial psychologist, while her father was an executive in the automotive industry, he also held a career as a chemist and a physicist. Renee has one older brother and two younger brothers.
Even though her family had their 9-5 jobs, they were talented in music and as Renee grew, she discovered her passion for music and acting and her parents encouraged her to pursue both vigorously. Due to the job of her father, the family moved a lot as she was raised in Houston Texas, Detroit and Michigan.
