Dan Cortese made his acting debut in the 1993 science fiction “Demolition Man” as Taco Bell Entertainer/Cryolab Technician. The film focuses on the lives of two men; an evil crime lord and a risk-taking police officer who was cryogenically frozen in 1996 but later reanimated in 2032 only for them to discover that the society has changed and all crime have been eradicated. The stars Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes. It was a box office magnet.
The following year, he played the role of Tony in the live-action NBC sitcom “Steinfeld”. Dan also played the role of Jess Hanson on Fox primetime soap opera “Melrose Place”. The actor appeared in a few television series mostly before landing his breakout role in the NBC sitcom “Veronica’s Closet” as Perry Rollins / Laird Perry Rollins former underwear model and publicist. The series received positive reviews and in 1998, it won the Favorite New Television Comedy Series at the People’s Choice Awards.

Dan kept a thin file mostly in single films. His appearances were limited to a few like the role he played in the comedy-drama film “After sex” and in the romantic comedy film “Everybody Wants to Be Italian” as Michael.
Between 2003-2004, he appeared as Jimmy Cox in the UPN sitcom “Rock Me Baby.” Dan also landed the role of Coach Scott in the sitcom “8 Simple Rules”. Another TV role that made a big positive mark in his career is the role he played in the WB sitcom “What I Like About You”.
