For five years, (1995-2000) she appeared on the NBC television show “Saturday Night Live” in various roles. When she first entered the show in 1995, a lot of big names on SNL like Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, and Mike Myers had already departed, and there was plenty of room for her to flourish which she made use of properly. She thrilled viewers by doing celebrity impressions of many stars like Katie Couric, Alanis Morissette, Debbie Reynolds, Barbara Walters, Cyndi Lauper, and Jennifer Lopez.

When she was in SNL, she appeared in 2 episodes of NBC sitcom “Just Shoot Me!” as Cindy. She also appeared in the fantasy comedy film “Liar Liar” as Jane.

She took her acting career more serious after leaving the SNL, as she landed a role in an episode of Fox legal drama-comedy series “Ally McBeal” as Melissa.  She appeared in another legal comedy-drama series “Boston Legal” on ABC. As her career progressed, she started playing voice acting roles.

Cheri played a voice role of Helen Klench/Parrot in the adult animated television series “Sit Down, Shut Up” on Fox Network.
