Career

Lesley Ann Warren began her career as a ballet dancer in High School. Done with school, Lesley Ann began to act on Broadway plays. And she was good in what she does – in fact, her first role was in the “110 in the Shade” in which she won the award of The Most Promising Newcomer. She went on to act in a couple more Broadway appearances before heading to Los Angeles. There was a stint in singing for Ms. Warren somewhere in the mix.

Her first role wasn’t just a passing role like a hostess or a maid. She played Cinderella in the musical film of the same title.

Between 2001 and 2006, she was part of the sitcom series “Will & Grace” on NBC in which she played a recurring role. Just before the end of her part of this series, in 2005 and up to 2011, she played a recurring role in “Desperate Housewives” that comedy series on ABC in which she played the role of Sophie Bremmer a neurotic fellow described as “a drama queen who tends to exaggerate” with an obsession for remaining a youth. Another of her popular TV appearance is her main role in “A Plain Sight” in USA Network.

On the film aspect, she was in “Victor/Victoria” in 1982 for which she got nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role. In all, she had a long list of film credits, but they were not all well received like “Victor/Victoria”. In fact, in 1994, she was part of the erotic “Color of Night” which earned her the nomination for Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress.

Lesley Ann Warren has been married twice. The first time she was married to Jon Peters, the hairdresser who became a producer and made dozens of films. Peters was married to Lesley from 1967 to 1974. The union was/is blessed with a son they named Christopher. You should know, Peters, if not for his film credits then for being sued by his former assistant for sexual harassment in the set of “Superman Returns”. The jury sided with the plaintiff in the 2011 case and ordered Peters to pay her 3.3 million dollars.

Her second marriage is the man she is still married to today. His name is Ronald Taft. The two got married in the year 2000. This union has no children. Before Taft, Warren has had high profile dates with some of the big names in the industry including the producer and actor Robert Evans and the guitarist, singer and songwriter Paul Stanley.
