John Marquez is an Anglo-Spanish actor, writer, and comedian who was born as John Charles Marquez to a Spanish father, an owner of a Chip shop and an English mother on the 5th day of June 1970 in Coventry, West Midlands, England. He is currently 51 years old.  Although his father was Spanish, John described his growing up and upbringing as ‘Very English’. This could be because they were living in England or partly because of her mother’s heavy influence in the family then. It is reported that John’s mother met her husband while she was on vacation in Spain. John Marquez has an elder brother, Martin Marquez, who is also an actor. Martin Marquez is an English actor and comedian born on the 8th day of October 1964.

Having convinced John to join the entertainment industry, he also appeared with him in ‘East Enders’ and the ‘Brothers Marquez’. His daughter, Ramona Marquez, who is also a niece to John Marquez was already an established comedy player in the TV sitcom ‘Outnumbered’ at the young age of six. His son also is a young actor. John Marquez was formerly married. He was married to his late wife, Clare Cathcart and the couple was blessed with two beautiful children, Jeanie Marquez and Elsie Marquez. Clare Cathcart (late), the deceased wife of John Marquez was also an actress and was fondly remembered for her works on ‘Call The Midwife’, ‘New Tricks’ and ‘Coronation Street’. Her last appearance on stage was in Mary O’Malley’s ‘Once a Catholic’ at the Tricycle Theatre, London in the year 2013. She was born on the 2nd day of October 1965 in the County of Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, UK. She died on the 4th day of September 2014, aged 48, at her home in Brighton, United Kingdom after an asthma attack.

His acting career kicked off properly after he was featured by his elder brother, Martins, in the Brothers Marquez. He had an impressive stage C.V appearing with the RSC in the television show The Taming of The Shrew, The Royal Court, House of Games, and The Hypochondriac at the Almeida. In 2014, he appeared in the musical ‘Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. After two years, in 2016 he returned to television series as Hermione Norris’s sympathetic husband in a comic drama ‘In the Club’. Just like other actors and movie stars, he is making his mark in the entertainment industry and expects results in the form of finance, fame, recognition, or awards. As of now, the results are yet to come in the form of awards or nominations but it is surely coming as finance.
