Chelsea Hobbs is the actress you might have known as Gerda in Hallmark’s two-part miniseries “Snow Queen” from 2002. Or, more recently but not so recently, from ABC’s comedic drama “Make It or Break It” in 2009. If you are wondering what she has been up to all this while, you are not alone. Age and ethnicity

Chelsea Hobbs was born Chelsea Raelle Hobbs in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, in February 1985. She is of Irish, Scottish, and Swedish ancestry. She grew up in Vancouver where she became interested in entertainment as early as three when she began dancing. At the age of 8, she hit the screen as a commercial actress for which she ended up appearing in over 80 commercial gigs.

There is little information on Hobbs’ background besides her becoming an entertainer at a very tender age. Related to this is the fact that Hobbs was educated in an advanced secondary arts curriculum school.

Career

Like already mentioned, Hobbs’ career began with commercials for which she has scores under her belt. She hit the screen as a full-fledged actor in 1994 when she played a role in the TV film “No Adults Aloud” which was followed in 1995 with the film “Secret’s Out”. a couple of obscured shows or obscured roles followed for the rest of the millennium and into the new one.

Her big break as an actress came in 2002 when she featured in a lead capacity in Hallmark’s mini-series “Snow Queen” alongside Bridget Fonda who played the title character and whose big career included titles such as “The Godfather III”, “Point of No Return” and Jackie Brown”. “Snow Queen” which was Fonda’s last acting gig is based on the 1844 fairytale “The Snow Queen” by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.

This TV miniseries was later released in DVD format in 2009 in the United Kingdom and in 2011 elsewhere which saw the name Hobbs make rounds in the movie. This might be connected to or inspired the fact that her second most prominent role came in 2009 in the American TV show “Make It or Break It”.

This comedic drama which aired on ABC for three seasons between 2009 and 2012 of which Hobbs was a part of the main cast for two seasons focuses on the lives of teen gymnasts whose number one desire is to make it to the Olympic Games (or break it).

Hobbs who is 5 feet 5 inches (1.65 m) tall has more than 30 acts to her name including small roles in “CSI: Miami” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, The TV film “Lucifer”, and eight episodic recurring role on Lifetime’s “UnReal” in 2018.

Hobbs is a businesswoman. She is the co-founder of Golden Door Productions. A business she began with the Canadian actress Jovanna Burke. Burke is most known for the films “Blade: The Series” and “Psych” on USA Network.

Husband and kids

In 2007, Hobbs married Teren Oddo the photographer.

Chelsea Hobbs union with Oddo is blessed with two kids. The first is a daughter named Wylie (born in 2006) before the two became man and wife; the second is a son they named Kingston (born in April 2011).

Chelsea is not single. On December 31st, 2018, she got married to James Neate, the actor and ex-fashion model with brands such as  Prada, Guess, Louis Vuitton, and Versace in his list of gigs. Neate is also Canadian and Vancouver born. In the fashion of actors who are not such big names, most especially North of Saint Lawrence River, Neate has other jobs besides acting one of which was furniture making.
