It is one thing to be talented and another to be young, but young and talented are just some of the few words used to describe Tyler Herro. Having had a successful run in his college career, Tyler is presently signed with the Kentucky Miami Heat.
Tyler is young, in age, and career but his confidence is one of the reasons why he always stands out on the court. Tyler has tasked himself with the responsibility of being a role model to his younger brothers who also play basketball. Myles Herro, one of his brothers, plays almost just like him. Knowing his brothers are watching is one of the reasons he gives his best.
How old is Tyler Herro?
Tyler Herro was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Jennifer and Chris Herro. He has two younger brothers, Austin Herro and Myles Herro, who are also basketballers.
Tyler attended and graduated from Whitnall High School in Greenfield, Wisconsin, with a career score of over 2,000 points. The young baller was so talented that he had four scholarship offers for college in his junior year.
On the 20th of January 2022, Tyler will be 22 years old.
Tyler started every game at Kentucky
Fazed with the problem of choice between the University of Wisconsin–Madison, Oregon State University, Marquette University, DePaul University, and Arizona State University, teenage Tyler finally settled for the offer of the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2016.
He later de-committed from Wisconsin University and settled for Kentucky University after Calipari gave him a better offer. Tyler signed his letter of intent with the Kentucky Wildcats on November 14, 2017, and played from 2018 to 2019. Tyler played a total of 37 games and is the only player to start 37 games for the wildcats.
Tyler is the youngest player to start an NBA finals
As a professional basketball player, Tyler officially announced his contract with the Miami Heat on the 10th of July, 2019. He was the 13th overall pick in the 2019 NBA draft and he made his debut On October 23rd, 2019.
In 2020, after a victory over Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA playoffs round II, Tyler became the first player born in the 2000s to appear in an NBA Conference Final. A few days later he was named 2019/2020 NBA All-Rookie Second Team of the year.
In October 2021, Tyler was announced as the first player to record at least 30 points and 10 rebounds off the bench in Miami Heat franchise history.

Other career highlights include the youngest player to score 30+ points and most points by a rookie in an NBA Conference Final; the fourth under-21 player in the history of the playoffs to score a career-high 37 points in the eastern conference finals.
On October 9, 2020, Herro broke a 44-year old record by scoring 10 points on the 3rd quarter of Game 5 of the 2020 NBA Finals – setting the NBA record by a rookie for the most consecutive games in the playoffs scoring in double digits with 20 while surpassing Alvan Adams’s record of 19 games of the Phoenix Suns in 1976.
The Tyler Herro’s (in)famous snarl
On the 4th of October 2020, the Miami Heat was up against the Los Angeles Lakers with a series deficit to 2-0 in the NBA Finals. The spotlight was on the Miami Heat guard, Jimmy Butler, the third player in history to record a 40-point triple-double during the NBA Finals.
Somehow, the new guy, Tyler, was the one trending on social media. The win was no piece of cake but Tyler was there to put the icing on the win with a terrific move with less than a minute remaining. After the shot, the 6 foot 5 (1.96 m) inches baller gave a snarl.
Whatever it was, it was something worth talking about. Tyler said he never made that face before, that it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing and nothing more.

Tyler Herro is a father
Tyler’s relationship is no secret but there is still not enough online about the love birds. In 2020, Tyler started seeing Katya Elise Henry, a fitness entrepreneur.
On the 5th of June, Tyler and his significant other announced on their Instagram that they were expecting a baby. They welcomed their daughter, Zya, on the 14th of September, 2021.
