In 205, he played the role of Principal Camillo in the thriller film “McFarland, USA” the film is based on the true story of a 1987 cross country team from a mainly Latino high school in McFarland, California. It received positive reviews from critics and grossed over $45 million.

Valente played the role of coach Stevens in the drama film “Endgame”. This movie was also based on a true life story of teacher Jose Juan “J.J.” Guajardo. Valente did not stop at appearing in films based on true life stories of people, he appeared in the family comedy drama film “Instant Fimaly” as Judge Rivas. It starred Mark Wahlberg and Rose Byrne as parents who adopt three siblings, played by Isabela Merced, Gustavo Quiroz, and Julianna Gamiz. Also starring Margo Martindale, Julie Hagerty, Tig Notaro, and Octavia Spencer.
In 2021, he played the role of Manny in the sitcom “Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me!”.
