Jenny Agutter has appeared in a number of films and TV series, winning awards in the process and getting respected in the society of her chosen career. 1. Jenny Agutter was born in Taunton, Somerset England
Jenny Agutter was born on the 20th of December, 1952 in Taunton, Somerset, England as the only child of Catherine Leyman and Derek Brodie Agutter. Her father Derek Brodie was a British soldier who retired to become a business manager while her mother Catherine Leyman worked in the nursery.

Growing up was fun for Jenny as she lived in countries like Singapore, Cyprus, Malaya (now Malaysia). Jenny attended the local Elmhurst Ballet School where she fell in love with ballet dancing. Although she never pursued it professionally, she never stopped taking ballet dancing lessons until she turned 20, only letting go when she became certain of the direction for her lifetime.
2. She relocated to the USA to pursue a career in Hollywood
Jenny’s first attempt in acting was in the boarding school she attended while a teenager. She replaced a girl for the role of Manna in a school drama called “Hanna and Manna” and got into another production where the producers needed a little girl who could speak English (this was in Asia). Jenny tasted the acting apple and saw how good it was and decided to enhance her acting talent.
It didn’t take long for BBC to come knocking on her doors with a role to feature in their TV series “Newcomers”. And indeed she was a newcomer to the art, appearing on set on days she was free because she was still going to school. BBC knocked again, this time harder. By now Jenny Agutter had already graduated from school with free time to pursue an acting career. She appeared in the BBC’s “The Railway Children” as Roberta. When she turned 21, she acted alongside John Gielgud in “The Tempest” with the Royal National Theater. Jenny later acted with the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing, notably appearing in “King Lear”.
In 1974, aged 22, Jenny relocated to the US to pursue a career in Hollywood. She went on star in many acting credits such as “the Avengers”, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and many others. But despite her Hollywood successes, she has not forgotten her roots, as she appeared in a number of BBC TV series from time to time.

3. Jenny was awarded the OBE for her charitable work in 2012
First, she won awards in appreciation of her hard work. Jenny won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama “The Snow Goose”. She later won a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for the film “Equus”.

Jenny Agutter is married to Johan Tham. Jenny met Johan Tham during an art festival in Bath, Somerset. Tham is a Swedish hotelier who was a director of Cliveden Hotel in Buckinghamshire. They tied the knot on 4 August 1990 and together they have a son named Jonathan who was born to them on 25 December 1990.
The couple is still living together as husband and wife with no divorce rumors whatsoever.
