Ebuka Obi-Uchendu is the biggest name associated with Big Brother Naija. He was in the obscured 2006 edition of Big Brother and has gone on to host all the succeeding editions in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020. Housemates come and go, winners and stars emerge but Ebuka remains the understated superstar of the Big Brother Naija brand. Ebuka is a socialite which means he rocks on the red carpet, on events, and can dominate the blogs and Social Media on a cold Tuesday afternoon during the off-season.
Here is everything you need to know about Ebuka which is in fact a summary. It would always be a bio with Ebuka. Any attempt at a biography would be encyclopedic. Not a stuff for one sitting, one blog post.
Ebuka Obi-Uchendu – Age, growing up, education
Ebuka was born Chukwuebuka Obi-Uchendu in Benin-City in July 1982 to middle-class parents of a banking father and a nurse of a mother. There were four of them born to his parents and Chukwuebuka is number three among two other brothers and one (elder) sister. Ebuka had his primary school in Benin where he proved to be an exceptional student and got into secondary school from primary four.
The family who hail from Okija in Anambra State moved to Abuja where Ebuka had his secondary education at Christ the King College, Abuja. Ebuka entered the university of Abuja in 1997 where he studied law. He went on to attend law school in the same capital city of the federation.

Big Brother 2006 and the growth of a star
Ebuka was one of the 14 housemates of the first Big Brother Naija (then known as Big Brother Nigeria) in 2006 hosted mainly by Olisa Adibua and Michelle Dede. Katung Aduwak won the show. Other participants of the show include Francisca Owumi who came second, Ify Ejikeme, Joe Ada, Gideon Okeke, Sandy Osigbovo, etc.
Ebuka who was the fans’ favorite at some point was the seventh housemate to be evicted from the show. It was a pitiable Ebuka who was told, “you are hereby evicted” on that fateful day in May 2006. Ebuka has proved that you don’t need to win the show to own the show. He is today the biggest star to come out of the show which only gifted the winner a mere 100 thousand naira.

She is the daughter of Chief Vincent Obianodo, the transport mogul and owner of The Young Shall Grow Motors. Born in November 1990, Cynthia is a graduate of the University of Hertfordshire where she bagged a degree in Human Resource Management.
Cynthia is from Nnewi, a neighboring town with Okija, her man’s home town. The two got married traditionally in October 2015 and had their white wedding in February 2016. They gave birth to their first child, a daughter, in November 2016 they named Jeweluchi (which means “Work for God” in Igbo). Their second daughter was born to them in April 2019 they named Irubinachi, shortened Rubi.
Ebuka met his wife in the micro-blogging site, Twitter. She didn’t reveal who slid into the other’s DM, but considering that Ebuka was one of the biggest eligible bachelors at his prime, we can make a guess. Yes, your guess is our guess.
Net worth
We are sure even Ebuka’s account officer cannot tell how much Ebuka is worth. This is Nigeria, knowing any one’s exact net worth is not our culture. But since you asked, since you insist, we can only tell you what we saw on the internet which can be as close as a wild estimation or an outright guestimation.
A blog put his net worth at 600 thousand dollars in 2018. In late 2020, taking into consideration his added gigs since then and with the adjusted naira to dollar exchange rate, we can say Ebuka is worth around 400 million naira. Don’t quote us.
