Alanna Ubach is that kind of actor that you assume is ordinary until you look at her list of films and television credits, you will be taken aback and quickly reconsider what you think of her. Ms. Ubach is a screen star. If you had seen “Meet the Fockers” or “Legally Blonde“, then you must have seen her in peak action.

Here are five fast facts on her for you.

She has a son

Alanna Ubach is married. She got married to Thom Russo, the legendary producer, songwriter, composer and mixer of rock and alternative Latin music with 16 Grammy awards. We are not certain when the two got married and it is not for lack of turning the entire internet upside down. But we do know about their baby.

Alanna gave birth to her only child at exactly 9.56am in Los Angeles. They named the boy Thomas Rodolfo Russo II, some colonial sounding name that is, some mouthful, you may add. But this is because you didn’t share in the sentiment behind having the boy named after his two grandfathers.

We keep referring to little Russo as her only child but there is an alternative fact. Alanna has another son named Stewart. She dotes on him and shares his pictures on Social Media. And we suspect her dog loves her back.

Alanna Ubach is a series regular in “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”

You know “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”? You might have even seen it or read about it somewhere, but there is no fine for you for forgetting; the series has a series of names. It is called. It is referred to as above in seasons one and two but became “Girlfriends’ Guide to Freedom” for season 3 “Girlfriends’ Guide to Bossing Up” in season 4, and “Girlfriends’ Guide to Ever After in season 5. How can you keep count?

The series is an adaptation from Vicki McCarty Iovine’s “Girlfriends’ Guides” series and developed by Marti Noxon the executive producer of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. The show aired in NBCUniversal’s Bravo network for five seasons of 45 episodes. Ubach played the role of Jo Hernandez-Frumpkis, the hero Abby McCarthy’s best friend.

The show aired between December 2014 and June 2018. It aired in the UK by Lifetime UK and in Canada by Slice. In its peak, it hit more than one million viewers in the United States alone. There is no excuse you do not know about this series as it is available on Netflix, iTunes, and Amazon Instant Video.

Alanna Ubach has Latin heritage

Alanna was born on October 3, 1973, to a Puerto Rican father, Rodolfo Ubach, and a Mexican mother Sidna. She was born in Downey, California. And through to her heritage, Ubach has acted Latin roles in movies.

In 1996, she played a Latina gangster in the crime film “Freeway” which includes in its cast a cdertain Kiefer Sutherland who would go on to become the Jack Bauer legend.

Alanna Ubach is a voice actor

Most actors have had some stints with voice acting. For Alanna Ubach, it is more than just a stint, she has nearly two dozens of voice acting credits that go back to “Gary & Mike” from 2001.  Some of her most extended appearances include “El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera” (26 episodes), “The Spectacular Spider-Man” (19 episodes), “See Dad Run” (50 episodes), and “Pound Puppies” (65 episodes).

Her more recent voicing include the movie “Coco” and the series “Welcome to the Wayne” and “Puppy Dog Pals”.

Ubach is a theatre person

In 2008, Alanna starred in the one-woman multi-character show in “Patriotic Bitch”. This show was held in Theater Row’s Clurman Theater. Alanna played the role of Yolanda, a Mexican immigrant who spends days in a backwater Los Angeles Hotel handing out toilet paper.

The play wasn’t that well-received but the New York Times described Alanna Ubach as a “seriously talented” person for this act. This, in itself, adds a ton of cement to her theatre personae.
