Sherry had his career breakthrough when she joined the cast of NBC medical drama “ER”. The show narrates the inner life of the emergency room (ER) of fictional County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and various critical issues faced by the room’s physicians and staff. “ER” is the second longest-running primetime medical drama in American television history behind “Grey’s Anatomy”.

ER was highly rated by viewers and Sherry’s role as Dr Susan Lewin brought her so much fame that she became confused on how to handle it. With unforgiving shooting schedules required for the show to maintain its high tempo, Sherry decided to quit the show but before she was allowed to leave, she had to sign a no-work agreement that stipulated she could not appear on television until the termination of the original contract.

When she returned on screen, she starred in an episode of the TV series “Company Town” portraying the role of Angie Amberson, a mother of teenagers and a whistle-blower on the investment firm where she works.

Sherry later appeared in the Shea film “Forfeit” playing the role of Karen, the ex-girlfriend of a clinical sociopath who schemes and plots to stage a massive robbery and sets Karen up to take the rap. Sherry was also in an episode of the USA Network drama In “Plain Sight”
