Ramamurthy is an American actor born to Indian parents who are Hindu. His father, whose name is Somayaji Ramamurthy, and his mother Rajam Ramamurthy are both Physicians who left India and decided to reside on American soil where he was born on the 27th of May, 1974. He can speak a bit of his father’s tongue, which is Kannada. 

He attended Keystone University, where he was following after his parents but switched to acting when he took some classes on it during his junior year. He fell in love with the art, hence, he switched from his pre-med major and became an actor instead. He graduated in the year, 1991.

He’s an American with Indian roots cause his parents are natives, which makes him an American-Indian.

His career in acting kicked started early. He had roles in so many plays while in junior school which was a criterion for his graduation. After he graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London in 1998, he became a full-time actor. He has also featured in theatre productions like “A servant of Two masters, Blind dating, It’s a Wonderful Afterlife, Grey’s Anatomy, Guiding Light, just to mention a few.

In 2000, he played the role of Adam in NBC’s television series which bordered on the Bible. It was directed by Kevin Connor and produced by Paul Lowin.

Other notable works he’s featured in our ” Heroes”, (a science fiction based on superheroes, that was created by Tim Kring and produced by Lori Moyer and Kevin Laferty) Covert Affairs, The Lifeguard, and Beauty and the Beast, where he played the part of Gabriel Owen who was the assistant district attorney, Shor in the City, a Hindu movie released in 2011 and was directed by Raj Ndimoru and Krishna D.K, etc.

In 2020, he was part of the Cast of a Netflix series titled “Never have I Ever” a movie he played the role of the lead’s father (Mohan).

This fine-looking man has a beautiful sister who followed the footsteps of their beloved parents by becoming a physician, her name is Sujatha Ramamurthy. Sendhil is the only one in his family that is on a different career path. Unlike his sister who turned out to be a physician just like their folks. 

Also, his cousin, Jay Chandrasekhar is a famous comedian.

He is married to his sweetheart Olga Sosnovska who is also an actress. The union is blessed with two adorable kids. His daughter Halina was born in 2005 while his son Alex came three years later (2008).

They reside in London, England, where they’ve made their home. Olga is the only spouse he’s married to. Given his busy schedules, he still makes out time to be with his family and spend quality time with them. This shows he’s a wonderful husband to his wife and a loving father to his children and that his family matters to him.

Sendhil Ramamurthy is not just an actor in Hollywood, he’s made appearances in Bollywood movies too. One of his roles in a Bollywood movie is “Shor in the City” where he was portrayed as Abhay.

He weighs 70kg or 154 pounds and his height is 5 feet 10 inches or 1.78 meters, that’s not bad at all. He has raven hair and black eyes to compliment it, with a slim body type as the full package of his physical attributes.
