But this is not all there is to Sarah Hassan. She is an actress with many acting credits under her sleeves. She is also a TV host and model. Sarah Hassan: Background

Sarah Hassan was born in Mombassa, Kenya to Lucian and Hassan on September 5, 1988.  She is the only child of her parents. She is half-Kamba and half-Coasyarian. Sarah or Tanya as she is fondly called attended Machakos Girls High School  In Machakos County in Mumbuni, Eastern Kenya where she was the entertainment prefect.

After this, she went on to gain admission to the Jomo Kenyetta University of Agriculture and Technology in Juja, 36 kilometers northeast of Nairobi the capital. She obtained a degree in Science in Actuarial Science.  Of course, Sarah did not practice her course of study for once, nor did she attempt to as she decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry as an actress.

She attended the famous New York Film School through her savings and graduated in 2016. “Immediately I started to work, I started saving up for school fees and two years ago, I started filling out my application. Every other day I used to look at my application and work harder,” It was in the United States that co-produced and directed a short film “The Company You Keep”. Sarah Hassan is 31 years.

Sarah Hassan: Career

Sarah Hassan worked at M-Net Africa in 2003 where she was the host of Mashariki Mix. Later, she became a host Discovery +254 at Nation Media Group. Tanya also worked as a TV Host Mashariki Max at Startimes Tanzania and as a Weddings Show host at Royal Media Services Limited. The TV show business paved way for her acting career after she had already made a debut in acting in the film “Nefertiti and the Lost Dynasty”.

Her acting career would be incomplete without mentioning the role she played in the television series “Tahidi High”. Sarah Hassan portrayed the role of  Tanya a beautiful and sweet high school student from a rich family who attends Tahidi HIgh school and makes her best to become friends with the other students. This role made her popular and introduced her to the Kenya movie industry.

In 2013, she appeared in the Kenya comedy film “House of Lingula” as Chichi.  It focuses on the sex life of typical Kenyans. The film stars Gerald Langiri, Lizz Njagah, and Ian Mbugua. It was directed by Alexandros Konstantaras.  The film was rated 18+ by the Kenya Film Board Association.

Since 2014, Sarah has been playing the role of Leah in the Kenya television series “Jane & Abel”. The soap opera focuses on lust, passion, greed, deceit, and spite as the main thematic concerns. Some popular in the series include Lizz Njagah and Brian Ogolla. She also played the role of Katherine in the film “now that you’re here”. In 2019, Sarah produced and star in the television film “Plan B” opposite Nigerian actor Daniel Etim Effiong.  The movie won the best movie, East Africa, at the 2020 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. Held in Lagos, Etim picked up the award which he made memorable by dancing up the stage.

On TV, Sarah played the role of dim-witted Carol in the comedy-drama television series “How To Find A Husband” which also starred  Lizz Njaga, Nice Githinji, Mumbi Maina, and aired between 2015 and 2016. In 2011, Sarah won the Chaguo la Teeniez Award for Best Actress in “Tahidi High”. In 2013, she won the Kalasha Awards in the best actress category for her role in “House of Lingula”. She won the 2015 Kalasha Awards for Discovery +254 category as Best TV host. Sarah is someone who has so much to offer to the entertainment world if she remains consistent.

Marriage, baby, other facts

Sarah kept her dating life private for years until the day she introduced the man in her life in an Instagram, by that time, the duo has gotten so fond of each other and there were marriage tunes. “The love of my life asked me to marry him and I said yes. “He literally bought all the flowers at Sarit. One day I will tell you the whole story.” This man’s name is Martin Dale and they met at the gym.

They wedded in Karura Forest and spent their honeymoon in South Africa. The couple is blessed with a baby born to them in April 2019.

Sarah is said to have a net worth of 2 million dollars. Two million US dollars. This is a little on the high side but what do we know about finances? She is also a fashion spokesperson having become a brand ambassador to several local fashion lines.
