Rob Corddry was in Weymouth, Massachusetts to Robin and Steven Corddry on February 4, 1973. He was raised alongside his brother Nate Corddry who is also an actor and sister Laura Corddry who works as an administrator at Southern New Hampshire University. Rob’s parents were officials at the Massachusetts Port Authority.

Rob attended Weymouth North High School and graduated in 1989, thereafter moved to the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In the interview he granted the UMass Amherst alumni magazine, Rob had intentions to major in journalism but he changed his mind and majored in English. After his sophomore year, he concentrated on Drama classes and plays like “Torch Song Trilogy”, “Ten Little Indians”, “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”, “Romeo and Juliet”, and “Reckless”. This was the beginning of a career that culminated to a Hollywood breakthrough amongst other things worthy of mention.

Rob Corddry married Sandra Beth Leftowits in 2002. It was one of those quiet marriages that you get to find out after one or two kids have been born. Although before they tied their union, they dated for a long time. The couple has two daughters Sloane Sullivan Corddry and Marlo Stevenson Corddry.
A couple of times, Rob has openly expressed how excited he is to be a father, more so, his internet biography reads “a smart father”. He also gushes over the support he receives from his family which has made him a better actor.

Setting up his career, Rob Corddry has toured with the National Shakespeare Company in the mid-1990s, this was after he took the job of a security guard at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s so he could feed. Rob later combined his security job with working in a Mexican restaurant. During his Shakesperean tour, he landed some acting roles but not enough to announce him as the next big thing.
Rob moved to receive training in improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City, where he performed as a member of the sketch comedy group “The Naked Babies” alongside John Ross Bowie, Brian Huskey, and Seth Morris. Rob also spent two years with another sketch comedy group “Third Rail Comedy”.
Rob was later auditioned for “The Daily Show” and had his comedy breakthrough as he later hosted the show with Jon Stewart. During his four years on the show 2002-2006, Rob’s brother Nate Corddry made an appearance on the show, Rob’s wife Sandra made an appearance on the show as he cracked the audience up referencing his childhood days in his native Boston, Massachusetts. From the experience he gathered during his time in “The Daily Show”, he founded the comedy series for kids titled “Children’s Hospital”. Rob has appeared in some movies even the ones written for him in mind like the role of Lou in “Hot Tub Time Machine”. In his debut movie in 2003, he portrayed the character of Warren in the film “Old School”. He was in the film “Wedding gaze” as Kyle, he also starred in the 2007 film “The Heartbreak Kid” as Mac.
His last film credit was in 2018 when he starred in “Dog Days” as Kurt. Rob has many Television credits. He appeared in the six episodes of “Upright Citizens Brigade” from 1998-2000. He appeared in 249 episodes of “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart. Rob was also in the TV series “Law & Order as Jim Leary and in 2019 he appeared in the series “What Just Happened??! With Fred Savage”
His numerous screen appearances rewarded him with nominations and awards. Rob has been awarded four Primetime Emmy Awards out of the six times he was nominated. He is still very much active in the acting industry and maybe more awards could come in the future.
