Penelope Mitchell – Five Things We Know

When I saw the topic Penelope Mitchell on the list, I just knew that I have heard about it somewhere. I couldn’t say where but it was a name that jiggled the bell on my consciousness if not ring the bell. Then I asked Google and I remembered. Penelope is the wife of Odysseus the journeyman from Greek mythology whose name is now used to mean a long journey full of travails. So my odyssey in this post is to write about everything I know about Penelope Mitchell. We go.

Penelope Mitchell was born in Melbourne

Penelope Mitchell was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Her mother is French and an artist while her father is an entrepreneur. Penelope is the last-born in a family of three among two older brothers. During her elementary and high school education between the age of four and sixteen, Mitchell studied ballet dancing.

Surprisingly, she went to Melbourne University to study to become a lawyer. But her talents for the arts prevailed and she ended up with a degree in Arts: Media Communication.

Penelope was born in July 1991. She is 28 years old.

Penelope Mitchell is a relation of Radha Mitchell

Penelope and Radha are cousins. Radha is an actress known for her roles in the films “High Art”, “Pitch Black” (from 2000), “Phone Booth” (2002), “Man on Fire” and “Finding Neverland” (all from 2004), all Hollywood films. She was born in Melbourne to parents who are a model (mother) and a filmmaker (father). Radha and Mitchell might be cousins but they are not in any way mates. While Penelope Mitchell is still to clock thirty, Radha is heading towards the half-century mark: she is forty-six years.

There is no record as to whether Radha Mitchell is married or not. And this has nothing to do with her unchanged surname. We actually checked and it turns out that Mitchell once told the media, as recently as 2019, that she is considering adopting a child someday.

She was in Vampires Diaries

Mitchell began acting in 2011 when she featured in a short film titled “The Fat Lady Swings”. This was followed by a series of short films until 2015 when she appeared in the American political thriller “Zipper” then “The Curse of Downers Grove” and more recently, as of 2019, “Hellboy”.

On TV, in 2013, she was on the horror series “Hemlock Grove” produced by Germount International Television for Netflix. Created by Eli Roth the legendary name on horror, the show was adapted from Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name. Mitchell was a recurring member of the cast as Letha Godfrey for all the 13 episodes that made up season one. There was no Mitchell in the second and third seasons. There is no fourth season; Netflix discontinued the show.

In 2014, Penelope joined the cast of “The Vampire Diaries” and portrayed the character of Olivia ‘Liv’ Parker for twenty episodes in seasons six and seven.

Penelope Mitchell used to date David Duchovny

We are not sure if they are still together. And frankly, we are not sure it is the David Duchovny who is an actor, a director, and singer we know. The David Duchovny we know is 59 years old. Penelope is 28. The David Duchovny we know is 31 years older than Penelope. The Duchovny we know is old enough to father Mitchell. But it is still possible that the two are going out. Hollywood does make-believe for a living so we can’t be too surprised. We must also point out that the Duchovny we know was married to Téa Leoni for seventeen years. They have two children together and divorced in 2014. It was in 2015 that Mitchell mentions his name so it is possible.

We are not sure if the two are still dating. Heck, we are not even sure that it is the David Duchovny we know.

The actress is a tall woman

Mitchell is 5 feet 9 inches (or 1.75 meters) which is more than an impressive height for an industry where the regular woman is 5 feet 5 inches. In fact, her height is more than good enough for a model. The average height of a model is 5 feet 8 inches or 173 cm. Being taller than the average model and the average actress is Penelope for you.

Mitchell weighs 56 kg or 117 pounds and has a body that measures  34-23-33 inches or 89-58-83 cm.
