1, Minnie Dlamini was born in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.

Minnie Dlamini is the daughter of Jabulani Dlamini and Queen Dlamini. She was born on July 7th, 1990 in Durban KwaZulu-Natal where she was raised alongside his brother Khosini Dlamini. She attended Northland’s Girls High School after her graduation, she moved to the University of Cape Town to study film and media drama.  During her undergraduate days, she was a presenter for LIVE, she also covered the World Cup and Youth Day celebrations.

Seeing many opportunities knocking on her door while still studying in school was an honor which led to her making a decision to drop out of school in order to chase a career in the show business.  We must add here that Minnie is not the first South African celebrity to quit school in order to follow her childhood dream. Boity Thulo also dropped out to pursue a career as a TV presenter and actress. Minnie Dlamini is 30 years old.

2, She made her acting debut at the age of three

Minnie was led by the hand to a casting director who gave her her first screen time as an actress. She was too young to know what happened but it her acting talent is all her own. She made her acting debut as Miranda in the soap “Generations”, on SABC 1 TV. She played a leading role in the soap “Wild” as Zintle Lebone and “Rockville’ as Nosipho Bogatsu.

Before these acting opportunities, she was working as a presenter for SABC1 but she decided to quit in order to focus on her acting career. In 2015, she appeared in the “Our Perfect Wedding” a reality television show. The show is all about South African weddings in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town. It also gives you an idea of how to pick a dress or a suit, cakes, decor, and cars. She also presented “HomeGround” in 2016. Minnie has credits as a presenter than an actress.

3, Minie Dlamini is married to Quinton Jones

Minnie Dlamini is married to Quinton Jones, not to be mistaken with the American legend record producer Quincy Jones. Minnie met Quinton when she moved to Johannesburg in 2017. While Quinton wanted something serious, Minnie put him on the waiting list for a year before giving him a chance. They kept their relationship discreet for two years before Minnie finally gave him a chance.

“We are constantly laughing and making fun of each other but at the end of the day, wig off and no makeup, he still looks at me like I’m the most beautiful girl in the world,” Minnie told the Sunday Times in 2016. They had a loud wedding with many celebrities gracing their occasion. Ther traditional marriage was on July 8th, 2017, they had a traditional ceremony which was conducted at Glenn Hills in the North of Durban. On 16 September 2018, they had their white wedding. Her marriage was reported to be on the brinks of collapse, but she rubbished the reports.

Before marrying Quinton, she dated then Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng ‘Itu’ Khune. There were unconfirmed reports that claimed Itu paid R1 million lobola to marry her. Minnie would later deny the report. They broke up in 2014. Minnie allegedly dumped Itu Khune after learning he was seeing another woman. “I was happy when it was good. It was the kind of relationship I didn’t see ending. I did see myself marrying him‚” Minnie told Anele Mdoda on Real Talk in 2016.

4, Minnie Dlamini is more than an actress

One of the things that made Minnie Dlamini popular is her job as a presenter. she has presented top local shows as well as international ones. After covering the world Cup celebrations and Youth day shows, she hosted “Mzansi Insider” which was a lifestyle show on SABC 1 channel. She has hosted shows such as South Africa Film and Television Awards, PSL Awards, 14th Metro FM music awards, and Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards in 2016. That’s not al, she has also presented “Soccerzone” with Thomas Mlambo.

During the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Minnie worked for SuperSports as a sports show presenter before moving on to other endeavors like starting up her own show “Becoming Mrs. Jones” a three-part documentary series where she narrates her journey before and after marriage. The reality show went on to become so big that it became the highest-rated show in the history of Vuzu App which is owned by DSTV.

She is also a model as she was announced as the new face of South African departmental store LEGit, with her own fashion range, the Minnie-Series. Minnie also gives back to the community through the Minnie Dlamini Foundation, a charity organization established with the aim of helping young South African girls have access to good education.

5, She has an impressive net worth

Minnie Dlamini is said to have a net worth of 1.5 million dollars. This seems like a figure some enthusiastic blogger plucked from the wind. It is what it is.
