Born on January 7, 1987, in Oakland, California, she was raised without siblings after her parents divorced shortly after her birth.

Lyndsy Fonseca Background: From the dancefloor to film set

Lyndsy started her journey to stardom from the dancefloor and she was so committed to it that her neighbors cheered and supported her. But these adulations never got to her head as she repaid the people that supported her with awards even as a teenage girl.

But a time came when she wanted something more, so Lyndsy started working to become an actor. She enrolled at Barbizon Modeling and Acting School and began learning acting and modeling.

At 13, she participated in an event organized by the ‘International Modeling and Talent Association’ (IMTA), where she earned third place in the “Young Miss Dancer of the Year” competition. She also became the first runner-up in another competition at the same event.

The event opened the doors of success for her, as it was attended by a few talent agents that made her entry into the entertainment industry look so easy. Lyndsy then moved to Los Angeles at the age of 12, and was later offered a role in the soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless.’

Career/How I Met Your Mother

Lyndsy Fonseca career can be traced back to 2001 when she featured in the popular soap opera ‘The Young and the Restless.’ Lyndsy addition to the TV soap opera added so much life to the series and she was rewarded with more screen time as she became a regular part of the show for several years.

Due to the confidence she displayed in ‘The Young and the Restless’ she became part of several projects such as ‘Malcolm in the Middle,’ ‘Switched!,’ and ‘NYPD Blue.’ But she never really flourished in any of these roles -at least not the way she expected.

Then in 2005, lightning struck twice and Lyndsy earned the first major role of her career in the sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother.’ The story focused around ‘Ted Mosby,’ a father who tells his children how he had met their mother. Lyndsy played the role of ‘Penny,’ the daughter, and made several recurring appearances in the series.

By then Lyndsy was growing into a full woman and the producers of the show filmed all her scenes in advance in order to maintain consistency.

Lyndsy landed more lead roles as she appeared in the 2006 drama ‘Big Love,’ playing the role of Donna. She also played significant roles in the series ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,’ ‘House,’ and ‘Heroes.’

Lyndsy played a major role in the superhero satire comedy ‘Kick-Ass’, followed by another major role in ‘Hot Tub Time Machine,’ another successful film. In 2016, she played another major role in the series ‘RePlay’.

Lyndsy Fonseca: Marriage and Divorce

Not many people are successful with marriage at first attempt so there is no judging her. Lyndsy’s failed marriage with actor and producer Matthew Smiley was a miserable aspect of her personal life that she attempted to keep under wraps. The duo married On 16th of April 2009 and continued their love life for about three years and then they split up in 2012 and finalized their divorce in 2013.

Lyndsy then started dating actor Noah Bean. In early 2016, she announced her marriage with Noah. They got married in late 2016. And in February 2018, the couple announced the birth of their daughter.

For her role in the adventure and comedy-drama ‘Moments of Clarity’, she got her first nomination in Catalina Film Festival (2015). She was also honored with this award that year for U.S. Narrative Feature. She has also been honored with San Diego Film Festival award. She won this award that year for Best Feature Film. Besides this award, she also got nominated in Maverick Movie Awards, also in 2015.
