Linus Roache comes from a line of actors

Linus Roache was born to English actors William Roache and his first wife, Anna Cropper on February 1, 1964, in Manchester, England. He was raised in a large family as he had five siblings (half-brothers and half-sisters inclusive). His family William Roache is famously known for appearing in the soap opera Coronation Street as Ken Barlow, while his mother Anna Cropper became famous from the film “All Neat in Black Stockings”. She was not that active until she passed on in 2007.

Linus studied at the Bishop Luffa School in Chichester, West Sussex, and the Rydal Penrhos School in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. He also received his education at the Central School of Speech and Drama where he moved to join the revered ‘Royal Shakespeare Company.’ Where his acting career was polished before he joining the ‘British National Theatre.

In 1994 he starred as ‘Father Greg Pilkington’ in Antonia Bird’s directorial debut, “Priest” in 1994. He was heavily criticized for his role and the criticisms must have weighed down on his so much as he exiled to India to study under his spiritual father Andrew Cohen –staying off movie for a while.

He returned and starred in the film “Pandaemonium” in 2000 and received the Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Actor for his performance. In the film “Blind Flight”, he played the character of John McCarthy, an English journalist who was kidnapped and imprisoned along with Irish academic Brian Keenan during the Lebanon hostage crisis.

In 2002, he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for the Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film after he played the character of Robert F Kennedy in the TV film “RFK”.  Linus has gone to star in “Law & Order” as Michael Cutter appearing in 63 episodes of the series. He also portrayed the character of David Wellington in the Tv series “Homeland”.

Linus Roache is happily married

Linus Roache is married to his longtime girlfriend Rosalind Sophia Bennett. The duo dated for a while before they exchanged their vows in 2002 in Malvern Hills, Worcestershire. Linus took his father’s path by settling down with an actress too. Rosalind has starred in the movies including “Juno” and the “Paycock.”

Although the duo has no kids yet, Linus often posts vacation pictures with his loving wife on social media and with the family establishing a small company in the US, Linus moved to New York as the managing director to offer support to his wife who is the public relations for the organization.

Linus Roache is not broke
