My first sight of him was in M’Net’s “Tinsel” where he acted as Funlola Aofiyebi’s character’s bodyguard turned lover and was involved in a wild love triangle with the character of Nancy Isime. Kunle Remi was born in Benue State and studied in three continents
Kunle Remi was born on October 18, 1988, as Oyekunle Opeyemi Oluwaremi in Benue state. His father is Engineer Joseph Ibukun Oluwaremi and his mother, a school owner, Mrs. S.O Oluwaremi. The family of six children moved to Ibadan where Kunle grew up and had most of his pre-tertiary education, including the famous Ibadan High Boys.

The actor Kunle Remi is well-schooled. The Ekiti-born star started out at the University of Ibadan where he began studying Fishery and Wildlife Management. He didn’t finish as he left to take up admission in Sheffield University, United Kingdom, where he earned a degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. Not done with education and buoyed by the fact that he was into the acting, been a youth drama leader in his Ibadan church, Kunle was in the New York Film Academy in the United States to earn a Thespian degree.

Kunle Remi, who was then addressed by his given name Oyekunle Oluwaremi on the show, won the seventh season of Gulder Ultimate Search. He emerged the winner after twenty-one grueling days in the Omo Forest of Ogun State and anchored by an unsmiling Bob Manuel Udokwe. “Am I the ultimate hero? Am I dreaming?” Remi had exclaimed when he hoisted the champion flag. “I am the last man standing!”
Some of Kunle’s rivals on the show are Atiku Mohammed and Adeleke Seun (finalists), Oduah Tonia, Ahmed Bamitale, Dandisong Strongface, etc., aged between 21 and 27.
That year’s edition of Gulder Ultimate Search was special in that it was the second search to be held in 2010. Earlier in the year, in Lacapagne Tropicana Epe, Lagos, the Celebrity edition of the show tagged Celebrity Showdown was held. Emeka Ike won the show beating finalists Daddy Showkey and Darey-Art Alade after eleven weeks of grit.
Some of the other participating celebrities include Funke Akindele, Muma Gee, Bob Manuel Udokwu, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha, Ramsey Nouah, Weird MC, and Obesere. Genevieve Nnaji anchored the show.
In October 2021, Kunle Remi returned as the taskmaster of Gulder Ultimate Search 2021.
The actor was once stabbed by a fan
In late 2016, the handsome actor had a brush with fatality when he was stabbed by his fan. The actor had gone to celebrate the birthday of a friend when he met this fan mad with excitement. “While we were greeting each other ‘the accident’ happened,” the entertainer wrote on Instagram.
Was it really an accident? The actor wrote the phrase in inverted commas which means even he has doubts about the “incidentness” of the issue. The injury bled so much the actor passed out and had to be sped to the hospital. It was a trying moment for the star and he has genuine reasons to be concerned with the veracity of the incidence. But whatever the intent behind the incident, the actor is alive and grateful.

Actress Adesua Etomi had been rumored to be in a secret relationship with the hulk of an actor whom she co-starred with in the award-winning romantic movie “Falling” directed by Niyi Akinmolayan from 2015. When Banky W slid into her DM, it was rumored on Social Media (as usual) that he snatched the “Wedding Party” star from Kunle.
After the wedding, rings and vowed exchanged, a new name taken, rumor backed with on-set pictures of Kunle and Etomi kissing and off-set pictures of the two in each other’s arms didn’t abate. Rhemmy went to Instagram to put a full stop to it.
