If you say that the talents of Kevin Hart are uncontainable and have no boundaries, you may be accused of been overly praise-singing but you may be right. The “Philly” born comedian, actor, and TV host has remained on top of the entertainment world since his breakthrough into the show business decades back. The actor has had his low moments as well, a marriage split, a homophobic tweet and a terrible accident he suffered lately.

In 2014, Kevin Hart proposed to Eniko Parish and they tied the knots on August 13, 2016, near Santa Barbara in California. They welcomed a son named Kenzo Hart in 2017 after which he publicly confessed that he cheated on his wife when she was pregnant with their son. We seemed to have gone to far ahead. Kevin Hart: Age and early life

Kevin Hart was born on July 6, 1979, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born to Nancy Hart who worked as a systems analyst for the Office of Student Registration and Financial Services at the University of Pennsylvania and a father Henry Witherspoon who had been accused of been a drug addict and had been jailed more than once. Kevin Hart and his elder brother Robert Hart were primarily raised by their mother.

It wasn’t all rosy for young Hart as he used humor to navigate through his family’s ordeal while growing up. Kevin Hart attended George Washington High School before proceeding to the Community College of Philadelphia. Hart later moved to New York City but his stay in the City was short as he found a job as a shoe salesman in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Kevin Hart started his career as a stand-up comedian with the name Lil Kev, however, his jokes were hitting the walls or he was simply performing to the wrong audience as he never found success on stage with the name Lil Kev. But it wasn’t about the name as he finally realized that he needed to nurture his craft so Veteran comedian Keith Robinson taught him the trade.

Kevin Hart soon discovered a way to tell his jokes, delving deep into his insecurities and family upbringing and fortunately for him, it worked perfectly well as he began to witness huge crowds in his shows. He embarked on his first tour in 2009 with “I’m a Grown Little Man”, followed by “Seriously Funny” in 2010 and “Laugh at My Pain” in 2011. He embarked on other tours like “What Now? Tour and “Irresponsible Tour” which were hugely successful. Kevin h=Hart went on to release three comedy albums which did well commercially.

Over the years, Kevin Hart has solidified his presence in the acting industry after his debut movie “Paper Soldiers” and “Undeclared” in 2002. The acting industry slowly held him by the neck and dragged him in wholly as he appeared in films like “The 40-Year Old Virgin”, “Death at Funeral” and “Think like a Man” which was a box office magnet.

Kevin Hart appeared as Ben in “Ride Along”, opposite Ice Cube. The film received generally negative reviews from critics but was a major box office success. He co-created “Real Husbands of Hollywood” with Chris Spencer. The show follows Hart along with other married celebrities within the series including Boris Kodjoe, Nelly, Duane Martin, J.B. Smoove, Nick Cannon, and singer Robin Thicke who later left the show.

In 2016, he starred in the movies “Central Intelligence”, with Dwayne Johnson, and the animated “The Secret Life of Pets”.  In 2017, he starred in the movies “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie”, in a voice role, and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”. He also appeared in the sequel “Jumanji: The Next Level” which was released in December 2019.

Hart has a production company Hartbeat Productions which produced his first film “Night School” in 2018. He has hosted a number of shows like the BET Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and Saturday Night Live. He has appeared in numerous music videos and he has modeled for an underwear brand.

Controversies and car accident

On April 14, 2013, Kevin Hart was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after his black Mercedes nearly collided with a tanker truck on a Southern California freeway. He failed a field sobriety test and was booked for misdemeanor DUI and was later sentenced to three years of probation after pleading no contest to one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kevin Hart was supposed to be the host of the 91st Academy Awards but following homophobic tweets he made around 2010 and 2011, the LGBT community felt embarrassed and offered an apology tweet and later stepped down from hosting the Awards that year. In fact, the 91st Academy Award in December 2018 went on without a host. Recall that the comedian has been rigid with his sexuality having turned than a gay role in 2008 in the film “Tropic Thunder”. With his apology tweet, the actor has grown to accept and respect people’s sexuality.

On September 1, 2019, he suffered an accident in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda that went off Mulholland Highway and rolled down an embankment near Calabasas, California. He suffered severe back injuries and was bedridden in the hospital for days until he was moved to a rehabilitation facility after nine days to speed up his recovery.

He has been married twice. Kevin Hart was previously married to comedienne Torrei Hart with whom he had two kids with Heaven Leigh and Hendrix. His marriage with Torrei ended in November 2011 but Torrei is still in the lives of her kids as she attends any big celebration happening in their lives.
