Jonathan is related to actor and playwright, Jeff Weiss, who happens to be his paternal uncle. When he was four years of age, his family relocated to California from Pennsylvania. Jonathan Taylor Thomas made his acting debut in 1984 when he played a voice role in the fictional puppy series “The Adventures of Spot” as Spot, a precocious child who was full of curiosity and great with a hunger to learning new things around his environment. In 1990, he appeared as Kevin Brady on CBS comedy-drama series “The Bradys”. The series was a continuation of the 1969-1974” sitcom “The Brady Bunch”. He was only 9 years old as of then, showcasing his confidence as he continues to get prepare for the film career ahead of him.

One of the biggest roles of his career came in 1991 when he portrayed the character of Randy Taylor in 179 episodes of ABC television sitcom “Home Improvement”. The series was one of the most-watched sitcoms in the US in the early 90s and it received good ratings.

In 1994, he made his motion picture when he voiced the character of young Simba in the Disney animated musical film “The Lion King”.
