The show which gave Higgins his first big recognition was The Late Shift”, the HBO film which storied the behind the scenes politics of late-night shows on NBC. In this show, Higgins portrayed late-night show host David Letterman. Higgins played the role of Richard Meyers, Aniston’s character’s brother in the movie that claimed a little lower than a quarter of a billion dollars in the box office off a budget of one-quarter of its earnings.

In 2012, John was in “Pitch Perfect” the musical romantic comedy movie which featured an ensemble cast including a certain Alexis Knapp about a group of girls who were competing for a capella tourney. Other voice arts include Nickelodeon’s “The Legend of Korra” in 2013/2014, “All Hail King Julien”, “Sofia the First”, “Turbo FAST”, etc. There are also game shows including “Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law” (2008).

John Michael Higgins is a family man. In 2003, he got married to Margaret Welsh. She is a big actress in many rights with 37 movies in her name as of October 2019 (according to IMDb) including Topa Topa Bluffs (2002) and Grey’s Anatomy (2005). The couple is blessed with two fine kids. The first, a daughter, named Maisie Higgins and was born August 3, 2003; the second, a son, is named Walter Lloyd Higgins and was born August 29, 2006.
