Jane March – How Old, Career, Relationship, All Facts

Jane March

Yesterday, we wrote about a British actor who wasn’t born in London. It seems the honeymoon is over and we are now back to British stars who were born in London. Jane March is an English entertainer who acts and who used to be a model. Here is everything you need to know about her.

How old is Jane March?

Jane March was born in March 1970. She was born Jane March Horwood in Edgware, North London. Jane March is multi-racial as her mother, Jen Herwood, a newsagent is of Chinese and Vietnamese heritage while her father, Bernard Horwood, a secondary school teacher is of Spanish and Anglo-Saxon ancestry.

There are two of them born to the Herwoods – Jane March and her brother named  Jason March Horwood (probably also born in March like his sister) who is now a landscape designer.

As the time of writing this, Jane March is 51 years.

Career

Jane March’s career began when she was 14 years old. There was a Become A Model competition in her hometown, she won it and became a model. It was at her teenage name that she began to use her middle name as her surname. It stuck and went beyond her teenage career as a print model.

On becoming a model at 14, years later, Jane said: “I was very ambitious. It all started because my first boyfriend dumped me when I was 14. I’d always wanted to be a model and thought, ‘Right, he’s going to see me everywhere.’ I was relentless in my pursuit of modeling. It was revenge.”

Hope Mikaelson the character and actor

Jane’s movie debut came from the erotica film directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud and inspired by the novel by Marguerite Duras from 1984. The film “The Lover” is about an Asian man’s affair with a teenage girl. Jane played the young girl and her role became controversial when the film was released.

A rumor started which Jane said the director encouraged that her on-set affair with the Chinaman wasn’t acting that real sex took place and for years, “Everywhere I went in the world,” she said, “the rumor followed me.”The rumor and the degrading nickname of the Sinner from the Pinner. The fact that Jane March used up to five body doubles for her love scenes in the film.

For the rest of the decade, Jane March’s credits were mostly erotic or independent. It was Jean-Jacques Annaud’s wife who first brought Jane to Paris to model and it was here that Annaud saw her and decided she would be suitable for the role of Young Girl in his film.

It can also be said that Annaud destroyed her career when he let the rumor of her having on-set sex go without challenge. He later apologized for his ambiguity and Jane accepted the apology but the harm might have been done to her career, irreparably.

But this is not the full story. According to the director of “Color of Night” the second-ever film Jane featured in Richard Rush, it was her marriage to Carmine Zazzora a B-grade producer that cost her prominent roles and credits in Hollywood. Rush said that March’s husband refused to let her accept any acting offer unless he too got hired to be a co-producer in the film.

As would be expected since Jane wasn’t exactly Scarlett Johannson nor was Zazzora anywhere near a Frank Marshall, these ridiculous demands were never met and March failed to march to her full potential.

Marriages, divorce, and height

Jane March has been married two times. Her first marriage was to Carmine Zozzora whose entry in IMDb, we would use this to avoid typing obscenities, reads “Carmine Zozzora was born in 1959 as Frank Carmine Zozzora. He is an actor and producer, known for “Die Hard” (1988), “Hudson Hawk” (1991), and “Die Hard with a Vengeance” (1995).

The two got married in 1993. The marriage came to an end in 2001. The union did not produce a child.

For someone who used to be a model, Jane March is what can be called short. She is just 5 feet 2 inches or 1.57 meters.
