Ellie Bamber was born as Eleanor Elizabeth Bamber in the South of England, the UK on February 2, 1997. The names of her parents have not been made public, however, she grew up with her younger brother who goes by the name Lucas.

Ellie picked up interest in the acting industry at an early age which led her to join The London Player’s Theatre. At the age of 12, she was the youngest member of the theater when she joined. She immediately got involved on stage and played the role of Young Jenny in Sir Trevor Nunn’s “Aspects of Love” at The Menier Chocolate Factory, London.

She went to Hawley Place School and her brilliance secured a full drama scholarship position for her at Eagle House and Wellington College. Ellie made few appearances in the theater before making her debut in film and television.

A large part of Ellie’s acting heart lies in the theater, although not to discredit the hard work she has sustained On TV and motion pictures over the years. In 2014, Ellie made her film debut in “The Falling” where she appeared in an uncredited role. That very year, she appeared as Lydia Bennett, the youngest of the Bennett sisters in “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”. The film also features stars like Lily James, Douglas Booth, Sam Riley, and Matt Smith. Playing the role of Lydia Bennett boosted her acting CV and in 2015, she was chosen as one of the British Film Institute and Screen Daily – Screen Stars of Tomorrow. She also returned to the theater that same year where she played the role of Dinah Lord, a disruptive teenage girl in the play “High Society” at The Old Vic, London which was directed by Maria Friedman and the last production under Kevin Spacey’s tenure as Artistic Director.

In 2016, Ellie appeared in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, where she played the daughter of Jake Gyllenhaal and Isla Fisher’s characters India Hastings alongside Amy Adams. She also appeared in the feature film “Extracurricular Activities” that same year.

Her appearances in television series have been a little bit thin. In 2012, she portrayed the character of Olivia in the television miniseries “A Mother’s Son”. She also went to appear as Martine in an episode titled ‘The Prodigal Father’ on the television series “The Musketeers”.

In 2017, Ellie appeared in the music video for Shawn Mendes’ song “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back”. She also played the role of Hilde that same year in the theater play “The Lady from the Sea” which earned her Third Prize at the Ian Charleson Awards.

In 2018, She appeared in the film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” alongside Keira Knightley and Morgan Freeman. In 2019 she plays Cosette in BBC 1 television series “Les Misérables” with Dominic West and Olivia Colman. Ellie landed the lead role of Mary in the film “The Seven Sorrows of Mary” She is currently playing the role of Mandy Rice-Davies in the BBC 1 television series, “The Trial of Christine Keeler” alongside Sophie Cookson and James Norton.
