However, she cleared this up on The Tavis Smiley Show on August 16, 2010, when she informed the host that her birthday is August 26, not August 16 as has been widely reported.

There is no much information about her parents, siblings or the schools she attended. At the age of 16, she was discovered by a photographer’s Paul Pelak and his wife Magaret Pelak and was urged to enroll at John Casablancas, a modeling agency in 1985. This prompted her to leave home as she became passionate about the modeling industry.

In 1985, she appeared on the cover of “Seventeen” magazine and it was the beginning of everything colorful in her life as she became a hot cake in the industry. Elaine would later appear in so many TV commercials and advertisements.

Elaine Irwin: Career

Elaine’s career peaked when she became a Ford model. This was after she appeared in the music video for New Order’s “Round and Round” off their 1989 album Technique. As her career blossomed, there was a growing temptation to transition into the acting industry as most of her colleagues do, however, she remained focus in the modeling line.

Elaine went on to appear on the cover of many fashion magazines, including “Cosmopolitan”, “Glamour”, “Self and Elite”. Richard Avedon captured a great picture of her which made it to the cover of American Beauty Vogue.  Elaine also modeled for Victoria’s Secret and Calvin Klein and worked with renowned photographers like Herb Ritts, Irving Penn, and Steven Meisel for her natural, soft look.

Elaine has not retired from her modeling career and there is no indication she would be doing that soon seeing that she still has a banging body even at 50.
