The name ‘Hargitay’ has grown into a household name in the movie industry, every generation with its own story. Eddie Hargitay, one of the youngest Hargitay in the industry, has been able to make a name for himself over the years. He is popularly known for playing Officer Montero in “Law and Order: SVU”, a role he played alongside his cousin, Mariska Hargitay who played the role of “Captain Olivia Benson”.

Eddie Hargitay was born and raised in Hollywood, California to first-generation immigrant parents. Eddie’s mother, a Thia-Chinese woman born and raised in Vietnam, met Eddie’s father, a Hungarian man, where they took classes in ‘English as a Second Language.
Another significant figure in Eddie’s life while growing up was Miklós Hargitay (popularly known as Mickey Hargitay), his great-uncle and godfather, who was also in the acting business and was crowned Mr. Universe in 1955.
