1. Dana Barron comes from a family of thespians

When you come from a family line of actors and actresses, how do you study acting? Dana never attended any acting school, she just plucked the acting talent hanging low on her family tree.

Dana was born on April 22, 1966, in New York City to Robert Weeks Barron who was an actor and director of commercials and Joyce McCord, the mother, a stage actress. Her father owned the Weist-Barron School of Television which is adjudged to be the world’s first school for commercial and soap opera acting.

Dana has a sister Allison who also starred in TV commercials and later developed an interest in acting. Dana’s grandmother, Marion Weeks, was a singer while her grandfather was an opera singer. Aside from the family having a thing in the entertainment world, they were record breakers as they were first to try out one thing or the other. It was in this highly-rated entertainment family that Dana was born.

2. She kick-started her career at age 11

Robert Weeks handed his daughter the opportunity to kick start her TV career in a commercial. She was aged 11. It was a big privilege and it was only a matter of time for her Hollywood dream to manifest.

In 1983, Dana portrayed the character of Audrey Griswold in the film “National Lampoon’s Vacation”, the film earned her massive respect and it was a commercial success too. Years later,  Dana repeated the same role in the NBC TV movie, “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie’s Island Adventure.”

Dana portrayed the role of Nikki Witt on “Beverly Hills, 90210” where she was allowed to design her character’s clothes and modify her lines. In 2002, she has already started producing films and her first production debut was in “Seduced By A Thief”, (she was a co-producer in the film). Shortly,  she became an executive producer for “National Lampoon”.  Dana has starred in the comedy-drama film “Happythankyoumoreplease” and “Naughty or Nice”, which was the highest-rated cable movie of 2012.

3. Dana Barron is not searching

For a life partner? Yes. The actress has been living with her screenwriter boyfriend Michael Vickerman and together they have a son named Taylor Barron Vickerman. So is Dana married to Michael Vickerman? No one can say for sure. Although some sources online claimed the duo are married while others put it as a civil union.

One thing is certain, Dana Barron is not searching for a life partner. You are late. She is happily living with Michael with no complaints and their son is now 13 years.

4. She is more than an actress

Dana might be making a living through acting but she has other passion and vocations she chased before surrendering to acting fully. She studied at the Hunter School for eight years, and after graduating, she enrolled in New York University’s Stern School of Business from where she graduated with distinction, majoring in business marketing.

In 2005, Dana bagged her Associate’s certification in Early Childhood Education from Santa Monica College. She also obtained a certificate in restaurant management course at the New York University.

5. Dana Barron has some awards under her sleeves

Her efforts on the screen have not gone unnoticed as she bagged an award which is not to say that awards make a star but they don’t hurt. In 1989, her performance in the CBS after-school special “No Means No” earned her a Daytime Emmy Award. Her role in “Beverly Hills, 90210” won her the Youth in Film Award for the best recurring actress. Shes currently enjoying life with her husband as she thinks of next to do to make her net worth of $500k rise to a million at least.
