Chyler Leigh is her own type of celebrity. Chyler Leigh: Age and Family Background

Chyler Leigh was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 10, 1982, to Yvonne Norton and Robert Potts. She has and an older brother named Christopher Khayman Lee who is in the show business. Chyler and his brother were raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, where her parents ran a weight-loss business.

The business soon collapsed and things began to look bad for the couple as they failed to steady the marriage. When she turned 12, her parents divorced. Separated from them, she moved to Miami with her brother where her mother remarried her first husband.

She picked interest in modeling and in her eighth grade she hit the runway. She soon made that famous transition most of her mates do by appearing in local television commercials and a syndicated teen news show,  In 1999, She moved to Los Angeles so she could develop her acting career. At 16, she took and passed the California High School Proficiency Exam as she never graduated from high school.

Chyler Leigh: Career

Chyler has been breaking the mould she made her debut in 1997 in the movie “Kickboxing Academy”. She was 15 then, but she was hungry and ready to win hearts and make money in Hollywood. She soon combined acting with a modeling career and her hard work soon paid off as she played the character of Janey Briggs  Leigh in the box-office success “Not Another Teen Movie”. She also appeared with the cast in Marilyn Manson’s music video “Tainted Love”, a song which appeared in the film.

Her career took more shape when she joined the cast of the ABC legal drama “The Practice”, she left the series at the end of its current season due to budget cuts. She appeared as a punk rocker in “The 80’s Show”. She starred as Lexie Grey, Meredith’s half-sister in the ABC medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy”. She became a season regular in season four, up to the eight season before she departed the show because she wanted to spend more time with her family.

Since 2015, Chyler Leigh has been in a lead role in the CBS/CW DC Comics television show “Supergirl” as Alex Danvers, the elder adoptive sister of the titular character and a scientist and government agent at the DEO. Chyler also makes music with her husband Nathan West (East of Eli), under the name “WestLeigh”. They have performed covers and originals songs.

Marriage with Nathan West

Chyler met her husband Nathan West in an audition they both attended for they both attended auditions for the WB series ‘Saving Graces”. The audition was unsuccessful but not their love life as they navigated turbulent times and landed at the doors of matrimony in July 2002 in Alaska. Together they have three children – a son and two daughters.

Chyler Leigh’s Drug Problems and Recovery

When Chyler met Nathan, she was 16 years of age. No doubt she was in love with Chyler but deeply, they shared other things like indulging in the use of substance she later narrated that her troubled upbringing and pushed her into the throes of cocaine addiction. She was living young, wild and free until she was told by the director of “Not Another Teen Movie” that she looked unhealthily thin.
