Latin American Actors are actors and actresses from South America or Spanish-speaking parts of the Caribbean. “Hispanic Actors” is a possible name for this category but the inclusion of Brazil makes nonsense of this since we cannot in good intellectual sense call Brazil Hispanic. But we can call them Latin since both Spanish and Portuguese culture derives from Latin.
Actors from American dependencies such as Puerto Rico who speak Spanish are also entered here as Latin American although we also include them in the category of “Actors of Color“. Sometimes, actors from, say Mexico, become American citizens but we leave them in Latin American category because we do not have an American category for United States citizen so they remain in Latin. See Canadian Actresses so as to understand our sentiment or not to understand it, maybe, just to see an accessory to ethnic confusion.
