Bethany Joy Lenz: Early Life

Bethany Joy Lenz was born on April 2, 1981, in Hollywood, Florida to Cathie and Robert George Lenz. Her father was a history teacher and therapist, while her mother Cathie was an entrepreneur whose little earnings blended well with her father’s paycheck in raising her and her step-siblings Candace and Sam.

She attended Eastern Christian High School in New Jersey. Bethany revealed his singing talent at the age of four when she sang her first solo at the Carpenter’s Church in Lakeland, Florida. Three years later, she was cast in a local production of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz”. She continued to follow the show business line passionately and by the time she approached her teenage age, she appeared on the commercials of Eggo Waffles and Dr. Pepper.

Bethany made her acting debut at the age of 17 when she played the role of Reva Shayne on the CBS Daytime soap opera “Guiding Light” for nine episodes. It was not really a debut expected of a newcomer as she flew away with many hearts, earning praise even from critics. Her deft portrayal of Reva earned her a role in the recast of the show as Michelle Bauer Santos after actress Rebecca Budig left the show.

Bethany portrayed the role of Rose Cronin in “Mary and Rhoda” by this time, she was still luxuriating in the fame she had gained in the soap opera “Guiding Light” but she never let it get to her head as she handled it quite diligently.

Her acting career blossomed when she played the role of Haley James Scott; the quintessential girl-next-door who is best friends with Lucas Scott. The actress was married to former Enation keyboardist, Michael Galeotti. They tied the knot on December 31, 2005. Their bond used to be strong as Bethany even opened Galeotti’s Restaurant in Washington State in 2009.  On February 23, 2011, she gave birth to a daughter named Maria Rose Galeotti. In March 2012, she announced that she would be divorcing her husband after six years of marriage.
