Brighto: All The Details About The Lord Baelish of Season 5

The Big brother Naija season 5 gave us so many diverse characters on screen, some we gave them names while they were in the house due to the type of film characters they displayed and one of them is BBN Brighto. Big Brother Brighto was called Lord Baelish of the Lockdown season because of his ‘shrewd’ ways of instigating housemates against each other, he was also called an Evangelist due to his dress code and manner of communication; Brighto is just a complex character. Here is everything you need to know about him in full detail.

BBN Brighto: Age and background

Ezekiel Bright Osemudiame aka Brighto was born in Edo State in 1991. He is 29 years old. He is the youngest in a family of six. Brighto gained a scholarship to study outside the country. He graduated from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Cairo, a regional Arab League university offering programs in marine transportation, business, and engineering.

Brighto is a  sailor. He is certified by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA. He also worked briefly in the Nigerian aviation sector before moving on to other things. He is fluent in the Arabian language and also considers his scholarship to study abroad as one of his biggest achievements, including his professional certificates and third engineer license.

Time In The House

Brighto was one of the housemates initially considered to be amongst the housemates that would be evicted very early in the game but his evangelist look made him an instant meme on social media (plus his complex behavior earned made his days turn to weeks in the house).

In the house, he was cunning and clever, one of the traits of Lord Baelish the fictional character in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series of fantasy novels by American author George R. R. Martin, and its HBO television adaptation Game of Thrones. Aidan Gillen brought the character of Baelish also known as Little Finger. As the show progressed, many Nigerians who are familiar with the real Lord Baelish might have found his alter ego in Brighto.

However, Brighto seems to be more clever than cunning. Viewers began to notice him when he revealed that he practiced celibacy in an eight years relationship.  Viewers also became interested in his character when he appeared in the arena games donned in a traditional outfit in his first week in the house.

He continued to entertain viewers with his unsolicited advice he gives to his fellow housemates like Laycon. In the kitchen, he was like the chef of the house, making meals and being free with everyone, however, he was unlucky in winning arena games or the Head of House challenge. Brighto also injected life into Saturday night live parties with his admirable dancing steps and his occasionally removing of shirts when the party gets too hot.

In his interactions with other housemates, he carried himself with the grace of someone who had a conventional upbringing, even in his numerous diary sessions with Biggie which made viewers christen him Brighto the Evangelist. He was a complex character yet loved. In what would be his final weeks in the Big Brother Naija house, he was caught up in a love triangle between Dorathy and Wathoni. What started as a mere friendship between him and Wathoni gave birth to raw feelings and Dorathy exited the picture. Brighto would later be seen under the sheets enjoying intimate moments with Wathoni, sharing tales lovers tell each other. He also shared a good relationship with Erica, Kiddwaya while he was in the house.

Brighto: Eviction and life after the house

Brighto’s eviction was a surprise to many viewers who loved him, hated him, and returned to loving him. In a triple eviction night that happened on Day 42 in the house, Brighto became the third person to be evicted that night after Tolanibaj and Wathoni. Asked if he would be going into the entertainment industry, he told show host Ebuka. “I am more of a career person. I would probably pursue other professional courses to further my career.”

It also appeared that he has decided to take his relationship with Wathoni seriously as he revealed during one of his media tours. Wish them good luck.
