Anne Dudek was born on March 22, 1975, in Boston, Massachusetts, to an architect father. Not much is known about her mother. Anne was raised in Newton, Massachusetts and attended Newton North High School before moving to Northwestern University to study theatre studies.

Anne Dudek: Career

While in college, Anne was cast as Iphigenia in “The Iphigenia Cycle” a theatre production. However, when the production was moved off-Broadway to New York City, she won the Joseph E. Calloway award for her performance. In 2000, she appeared in “Wrong Mountain”. She won the Connecticut Critics Circle Award for outstanding performance in “The Glass Menagerie.”

Anne soon realized that her acting talent would be suited for television and film and was cast as the lead in the British comedy-drama “The Book Group”. The series centered on the life of American Clare Pettengill (Anne Dudek), who, at the start of the series, had recently arrived in Glasgow, Scotland. She starts up a book club to try to find friends with similar interests but met people who had other interest from what she was searching for. The show aired on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom and received positive reviews.

She portrayed the character of Lucinda Barry in the pilot episode of Psych. Anne played the role of a teacher who has a sexual relationship with one of her students on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” Anne Dudek had a role on House (recurring from season 4 onwards) as Amber Volakis, one of 40 physicians under consideration by Dr. House for permanent positions on his team. Her character, nicknamed “Cutthroat Bitch” by House, continued to the end of season 4 but was killed off in the two-part season finale.

In 2015, portrayed Dawn Lin in an episode of “NCIS: New Orleans”, and also made a guest appearance in the fifth-season finale of “Rizzoli & Isles”.  Anne appeared in several episodes of the HBO series Big Love as a child bride. Since 2018, she has been playing the role of Kate in the television series “Corporate”. The series follows the miserable lives of two downtrodden employees.
