Alphy Hoffman: Who/What He Is, Plus Sexual Controversies

The name Alphy Hoffman is hardly mentioned without accompanying dark spots. These dark spots get bigger now and then. And it is not hard to say why. He is accused of sexually abusing a minor and he is a subject of investigation of sexual molestation. While he hasn’t had his day in court, he doesn’t seem to have a lot of people who believe his unclaimed innocence. Here are all the details you need to know about the man called Alphy Hoffman.

Who is Alphy Hoffman?

Alphy Hoffman’s name doesn’t ring so much bell. In fact, he became popular when Corey Feldman fingered him as the man who molested him when he was a child actor. Alphy Hoffman’s date of birth is unknown, the high school he attended is not public, and no one knew if he went to college or not. Alphy was just a man who was lucky to be sitting on the corridors of Hollywood in the early 1980s – and then not so lucky.

He never married, but there are reports that he has a daughter named Jordan Aleris Wall born in 1992 or 1993. Most of his family details and personal life are hidden from media pages. But Alphy has some film credits to his name as a director.

He was a casting director in the first season of the series “New Love”, and “American Style”. He also produced three episodes of the second season of the TV series “American Style”. This was followed by the role he played when he directed the “All My Children 25th Anniversary Special” in 1995. Alphy had a good time during the early ’80s and 90’s walking on minor film projects and managing a small club for actors who are under the age of sixteen. Many decades later, accusations surfaced that he molested child actors in “Soda Pop Club”.

What really happened in Soda Pop Club?

First, Soda Pop Club was the utopia of child actors who are not up to the age of 16 in Hollywood. It was a lively place for these child actors to hang out drink, free soda, dance, and dream about the impact they would make and so much money that might be theirs in Hollywood.

Since it was privately organized for these child actors, it gave little room for parental supervision and Alphy Hoffman assumed the role of a mentor, father figure even, to these child actors together with a man named Bobby Hoffman whom people thought was his father. The duo ran the club between 1986 to 1989.

Soda Pop Club threw innocent parties to these child actors and made them feel they have arrived, but there seem to be other things that happened in the parties and Corey Feldman famed for his child acting roles claimed that the Soda Pop Club was more than a club for Hollywood kids.

Alphy Hoffman: Sexual Controversies

Corey Feldman was a child actor during the ’80s who appeared on The Dr. Oz Show on November 13, 2017, to allege that Alphy Hoffman abused him sexually during the period he was running Soda Pop Club. This was in the wake of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual misconduct saga.

Corey had earlier put out information in the public about people who abused him and when host, Dr. Mehmet Oz showed a picture of Alphy Hoffman during his live show, Corey narrated how it happened which further unearths more shreds of evidence that Alphy’s name is not clean.

Corey said, “He was the guy who ran Alphy’s Soda Pop Club. I met him when I was 12 years old. He came to my house to pick me up in his car. I’d heard rumors he threw the coolest parties in town, and he was well connected. He was the son of Bobby Hoffman, who was the top casting director at the time for one of the major studios. That studio ran many of the hit shows that were on TV at the time, from Happy Days to Laverne & Shirley to Mork & Mindy.”

Further investigation reveals that Alphy was not Bobby Hoffman’s son but his live-in lover. Also, his real name is Alphy Rivas and not Alphy Hoffman.  In 2012, Corey Feldman’s best friend Corey Haim told Vice that he always had the premonition that Alphy is not a good man. “I don’t think he is a good human being… I lost complete respect for Alphy Hoffman. Alphy sucks! Point-f*****g-blank.”

Corey Haim also gave names of some child actors who attended Alphy Hoffman’s parties and they include Nicole Eggert, Alyssa Milano, Alfonso Ribeiro, Tori Spelling, Christina Applegate, and Scott Grimes, but no one knew if Alphy molested them. They have not made any claim (yet).

Alphy Hoffman is not the only one accused of sexual molestation by Feldman. There was an actor named Jon Grimson who is most known for his role in the movie “License to Drive” (1988). Feldman said he mentioned this in his memoir but owing to complicated legal reasons, he used the pseudonym Ron Grimson for Jon Grimson. Another person that has been accused by Feldman is convicted sex offender Marty Weiss.

Where is Alphy Hoffman Now?

The last place that Alphy was confirmed to reside in was Hollywood, California and this was not recent. We went as far back as 2009. He might still live in the Los Angeles area but no one can say for sure. If you guess that he is hiding, you might not be entirely wrong; the fact is, he is lying low.

He never spoke to the public. Perhaps on the instructions of his lawyers. But if investigations confirm that he indeed molested Corey Hoofman when the latter was a child actor, then there will be no hiding place for him.

Child molestation and sexual misconduct have become a pair of hot issues that haven’t seen so much decisiveness: Alphy Hoffman won’t be the first to go to jail if found culpable, nor the first to go free despite guilt.

There are people who assume that Alphy Hoffman is dead. He isn’t. His supposed father but alleged lover, Bobby Hoffman, is the dead Hoffman. He passed away in 1993.
