Aarti Mann grew up with her older sister Kruti and younger brother Nishad. As a child, her family moved around a lot, mainly in the area of Pennsylvania. Later, she lived in Pittsburgh, Mt. Lebanon, Wexford before settling in Fox Chapel. During her high school, she was never part of any play, she never dreamed of becoming an actress until her elder sister Kruti who is now a filmmaker encouraged her to pursue an acting career. Aarti began her acting career in 2006 when she played a role in her sister’s film “The Memsahib” as Mirabai. Following his sister’s encouragement and the vibe she got form her first film, she concluded it won’t be a bad idea to become a movie star so she enrolled in an acting school in Los Angeles.

She soon appeared in a commercial for Volvo and also landed a role in the web/TV series “Quarterlife,” which aired briefly on NBC in 2008. She appeared as a guest star on NBC science fiction television drama series “Heroes” in 2009 as Shaila. In 2010, she played the role of a medical doctor in the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” in one episode.

Her breakout role was in the CBS television sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” where she played the role of Priya Koothrappali a lead attorney at an Indian biggest car company. The sitcom received mixed reviews when season one was premiered, however, it witnessed good reviews and ratings in the second and third season but somehow failed to impress most viewers in its fifth season. Despite these unsteady ratings, the show was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series from 2011 to 2014.

Aarti Mann appeared in the season two winter premiere of the legal drama television series “Suits” as Associate Maria Monroe on the USA Network. She was originally cast in the role of Stephanie for the USA pilot “Paging Dr. Freed”, but did not appear in the final version because the network envisioned a different type for the character.

She appeared in an episode of the political thriller television series “Scandal” as Agent Laura Kenney in ABC.
